So by this logic you wouldn't want a trained diplomat, like a Richard Holbrooke, or even a very wise politician like a James Baker, but you'd be thrilled with whatever mannequin was on Fox that morning?

In 1848, French diplomat Ferdinand de Lesseps negotiated peace with the Roman Republic. It was a fine piece of negotiation. But he did not have the backing of his government, which disavowed it & reopened hostilities. He never worked as a diplomat again. Consider the lesson.
