The most Bicentennial thing I remember from '76: Log Cabin syrup, which was then sold in glass bottles, put out a series of paintable patriotic designs on the back of the bottle (eg, the Liberty Bell) & my grandfather painted the whole set.

My Dad worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad as a machinist in their Ft. Worth rail yard. As such he had limited privilege to drive the engines on the yard. I got to ride on this when I was 8 for a mile or so.pic.twitter.com/bOclowm2h8
