Wouldn't B, assuming equal at bats, get more XBH and therefore more homers/RBI while making up for fewer singles with more walks?

Yes. Both will be similarly productive for that reason. But A moreso.

Correct me if I'm doing the math wrong, but if B has fewer hits but the same slugging, doesn't that mean his hits are more likely to be 2B/3B/HR? That's where I get B as more productive.

Yeah, I could go into this at more length, and it may depend on how often he bats with men on base. But more hits moves, and scores, more baserunners, all else equal.

Fair. I'm assuming based on hitter profiles that A bats higher in the order and B bats with a better chance of men like A on base. But I like the debate.

Maybe. With the bases empty, a walk really is as good as a single.

Yeah, and that's where I think the batting average difference between the two might not matter as much. And I'm not going into the math of B having a bigger disparity in hits because more walks=fewer AB=fewer hits than A would with a .260 AVG.

Zachary is right. Easy enough to see if you take the edge cases of 365/365/510 and 130/365/510 that the lower batting average is more valuable for identical OPSs.

Not really. Putting the ball in play always has the possibility of inducing an error. Don’t get that with walks.

True, but putting the ball in play can also lead to multiple outs, which can't happen with a walk - and double plays are more common than errors.
