Maybe. With the bases empty, a walk really is as good as a single.

Yeah, and that's where I think the batting average difference between the two might not matter as much. And I'm not going into the math of B having a bigger disparity in hits because more walks=fewer AB=fewer hits than A would with a .260 AVG.

Zachary is right. Easy enough to see if you take the edge cases of 365/365/510 and 130/365/510 that the lower batting average is more valuable for identical OPSs.

Not really. Putting the ball in play always has the possibility of inducing an error. Don’t get that with walks.

True, but putting the ball in play can also lead to multiple outs, which can't happen with a walk - and double plays are more common than errors.
