It amazes me how tone def people can be. People have no clue that by calling voter ID laws racist is in and of itself racist. It has never made sense that the government charges for things it requires. IDs should absolutely be provided to all citizens.

What empirical evidence shows we need additional ballot security measures?

So that whole "muh russia" thing that's been going on for the past few years was a big nothingburger? Good to know.

I don’t think providing free IDs is a recommendation by most republicans in favor of voter ID. That’s my huge sticking point. But, if the IDs are free and made easily available, that would be a different matter.

Some Voter ID laws are more generous with this than others.

How this is remotely controversial is astonishing. People who protest this so furiously only lead me to believe that they desire voter fraud (or protect the fraud they enjoy and/or orchestrate).

As long as it’s not implemented like Alabama’s... they passed voter ID laws and promptly reduced the DMV offices.

I just have never understood how a person lives their life without a driver's license or a state ID card. Like how do you do things that aren't voting?

Not criticizing, but I suspect you thankfully also don’t understand what it’s like to be really poor in America. A middle class life (or higher) without an ID is unthinkable. If you’re poor (as so many are these days) it’s not unusual. We’d all be better off if that changed.
