This old, short piece of @davidlsims's on Joss Whedon's structural innovation with Buffy that is both incredibly influential into this era, and also of a time that's ended is still really goodhttps://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2017/03/how-buffy-the-vampire-slayer-redefined-tv-storytelling/519174/ …

This
@tvoti piece on ER gets into some of its structural elements, actually, and is a good read on why people are enjoying it anewhttps://www.vox.com/culture/2018/2/21/17018078/er-hulu-streaming-great-show … -
My 19yo daughter got into it, so we've been occasionally rewatching. And binging Homicide, which is also one of the great 90s shows.

So did the original "Law and Order", though in fits and starts. So, too, did "Homicide: A Life on the Streets" to some degree. Again, not as consistently, as "Buffy"--or as "ER", for that matter. Then again, I'm biased against it. Never really cared for the show.
