Of course, if they're gonna do a Field of Dreams game, they gotta have James Earl Jones.

I believe the Field of Dreams game will be the first time major league baseball has been played in Iowa since 1875; the Keokuk Westerns of the National Association lasted only 13 games. Their star, Charley Jones, would play until 1888.https://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/WES/1875.shtml …

6 Hall of Famers were from Iowa: Cap Anson, Fred Clarke, Bob Feller, Dazzy Vance, Red Faber, & Dave Bancroft. Feller's probably the most identified with the state, since he was still attending high school there in 1936-37 after striking out 77 batters in 62 IP for the Indians.

In the mid-1930s, Iowa was Cubs country, but radio broadcasts had limited reach, so Cubs games were re-created on radio from teletype as they happened. A young broadcaster from Illinois did Cubs games that way from Des Moines for his first job before leaving for Hollywood.pic.twitter.com/5biGCMRBje

Has anyone looked at his managerial decisions on the nights he bet on the Reds vs the nights he didn't?

I suspect he rode his bullpen harder; but then, Pete ran his relievers into the ground in general.

Ted Williams said Jackson belongs in the Hall. That’s good enough for me.
