I'm not a hardliner against waiting periods, but there's a tradeoff, especially in victims of domestic violence who get murdered waiting for their access to self-defense.

Seems to make more sense to restrict access to firearms for people with demonstrated past violent behavior—as I’m sure you know, most intimate partner murder is usually the end of a tragic cycle.

I'm in favor of red flag laws. Of course, more than a few women have been beaten to death by unarmed men.
