In retrospect, the power-sharing arrangement in Rhodesia between Smith & Muzorewa was a whole lot less awful than what followed it. To criticize Reagan's stance on Rhodesia at that juncture is to embrace the whole chamber of horrors - eg genocide, starvation - wrought by Mugabe.

It's hard for me to imagine how *any* sentence of the form "To criticize X for their stance on Y is to embrace the whole chamber of horrors -- e.g., genocide, starvation -- wrought by Other-Person-Opposed-To-Y" could ever be true or even reasonable. Gives binarism a bad name...
