If you seriously believed that the outcome of the election was harmed by something McConnell prevented Obama from doing, you would not defend Obama repeating his message at that juncture that the election would be free, fair & unrigged. You can't have it both ways.

You are conflating electoral vote rigging with Russia’s stealing emails that became a source of attack for Trump against Hillary. I mean I assume you’re smart enough to know the difference and you’re just playing a word game.

What did McConnell prevent Obama from saying in public, in your view?

McConnell prevented a bipartisan response to the election interference via hacking. Not particularly complicated. Obama reached for an all of government response, including the Congress. McConnell stymied that. But you already knew that.

This is a non-answer, as you know. What, specifically, could Obama have said or done, with Mitch, that he didn't do?

If you don’t think there’s a difference between a joint appearance of Obama and the 4 bipartisan leaders in Congress weeks before an election and Obama himself alone then I think you’re the one who is evading answers.

In other words, you do not contend that there was so much as a single word that Obama was prevented from saying, much less a single act he was prevented from taking.

He was stymied from bipartisan action to defend our democracy because McConnell acted as a partisan. I don’t think this could be any clearer for you.

Yet, you can't specify any "action" that was proposed or that he was prevented from taking.

You’re being intentionally obtuse. If President Obama has claimed stated in Oct 2016 that Russia was assisting trump win you would have been among the 1st to scream that he was using the intel agencies for partisan purposes. Your lying to yourself if you don’t think you would.

I'm still trying to get an answer as to what it is that Obama was supposedly going to do or say, that he did not do or say. It's impossible to judge the proposed statement or course of action if nobody can say what it was.

Its well established that Brennan approached the 4 cong leaders about issuing a joint statement about elec interference and McConnell said no. So, Jeh Johnson put out the statement from the admin. The pt being that anything from Obama would have been viewed a a partisan statement

IOW, your contention is simply that McConnell declined to sign off on the statement that was actually issued, thus not preventing Obama from doing or saying anything besides what was actually said.

But of course you know this, but want to blame Obama for McConnell caring more about winning than Russian meddling.
