If you seriously believed that the outcome of the election was harmed by something McConnell prevented Obama from doing, you would not defend Obama repeating his message at that juncture that the election would be free, fair & unrigged. You can't have it both ways.

Its well established that Brennan approached the 4 cong leaders about issuing a joint statement about elec interference and McConnell said no. So, Jeh Johnson put out the statement from the admin. The pt being that anything from Obama would have been viewed a a partisan statement

IOW, your contention is simply that McConnell declined to sign off on the statement that was actually issued, thus not preventing Obama from doing or saying anything besides what was actually said.
