One-party rule in the poorest, most rural states is mostly a new development since 2010, & isn't anywhere as secure as the big liberal cities. There is, I believe, a tie between the two states who have the longest unbroken chain of Republicans exclusively winning statewide elections going back to 1994. Two states who have a pretty good track record since that time, I think most would agree. Utah and Texas.
