I’ve had someone seriously tell me that if neither I nor my children had served in combat, then I didn’t get an opinion about overseas deployments.

I have never served in the military, but have been very active in Veterans Organizations. I regard the first hand opinion of the Vets as much more authoritative on a wide variety of issues, than those of us who have not served.

Just because someone is a veteran does not make them immune to our laws. I assume you are discussing Mueller. He is not worthy of any respect at this point. IMO rumors of him spending 22 months in a DC bar are looking really substantiated.

Mueller volunteered for Marine combat duty in Vietnam. He was wounded and earned the Bronze Star with "Valor" device. He left the Marines during peace time because he "found it unexciting". If you cannot respect a man like this, the problem lies with you, and not him.

Exactly who is the very bad man who is a vet? It certainly isn’t Mueller.

For example, Hitler was a vet.

The other guy beat you. Sorry. And yes, the opposition armies' veterans exist as well. Thought that was obvious.

I'll throw a name out there. Randy "Duke" Cunningham. A vet who turned out to be a big crook.

You are both correct, of course. Anyone with half a brain should be able to see this. This applies to gold-star families, as well. They don't have some force field around them, protecting them from any and all criticism if they deserve it.
