I've seen some of this mounting on the pro-Trump Right, too, though not to the same extent. But the degree to which vocal progressives, especially people who write for a living, profess it to be Bad to even engage with anyone on the Right should alarm us.

Deciding that you just can't live with conservatives anymore, simply because of Trump, is a posture that makes sense only if you somehow believe that defeating Trump will make conservatives go away forever. American history suggests otherwise.
