Boris Johnson is a fascinating & entertaining character, which is not the same as being a serious, prepared leader. He's kind of a cross between Newt Gingrich & Trump, but with a distinct Fleet Street flavor, & little in common with U.S. conservatives philosophically.

The parallel to Trump, of course, is in the Tories picking Boris, a man of at best sketchy character & little principle, as an overcorrection from Theresa May, who is a sober & serious person but lacks the determination, constancy, charisma, or strategic sense to be a Thatcher.

Coming after May, a damp rag would look like a successful PM. The bar is incredibly low for Johnson. He just has to finish off Brexit to secure his right wing, then turn around and finish off Corbyn.
-
Thankfully Johnson is precisely the incompetent buffoon that could help put Corbyn in #10.
