I actually hate the Democrat presidential candidates AND Donald Trump and will be overjoyed when one of them loses. Unfortunately, it means that one of them will win, and that will surely suck. But I'll be damned if I am going to cast a vote that helps either one win.

I'm not saying you need to vote for a Democrat. But you damn well need to decide if you're going to oppose this monster and his supporters or if you're going to equivocate, like Dan is.

How is he equivocating? "Everybody sucks" seems pretty unequivocal to me, because Trump and his supporters are under the umbrella of "everybody."

Also, I'm curious if you will say that one doesn't have to vote Democrat to oppose Trump in 16 months. I don't know who you are, so I won't presume that you wouldn't. But I am skeptical.

There will be other candidates. You can also choose not to vote for President. You can also campaign against his ideals, such as they are. Personally, I'll likely vote for the Democratic candidate, but you do what will allow you to look your kids in the eye.

Cool! Will do! But if I put just as much pressure on the Democrat nominees who are skewing very dangerously left-wing with their own form of populist demogaguery, will that make me complicit if Trump wins re-election because I didn't put more pressure on him?

(Obviously this inflates my influence to a preposterous degree, but the hypothetical stands. I lost friends in 2016 for refusing to vote for the Democrat against Donald Trump, and I am prepared to do so again.)

We'll all be complicit for not doing more if he wins. Just as we're all complicit for not doing more in his 2016 win. We all need to be prepared to deal with the consequences of our actions and inactions.

Let's see first what the options are. Several of the Democrats are proposing a plan that would be, frankly, a permanent end to the American system. I have no intention of endorsing the destruction of the Constitutional republichttps://www.nationalreview.com/magazine/2019/06/24/against-the-democrats-court-packing-scheme/ …

I look forward to you complaining in November 2020 how, regardless of who is nominated, you wish you could have voted for anyone other than Trump, Dan. Although, by then, I'll probably have blocked you too.

At least you're honest. I voted McMullin in 2016. I have not decided on 2020, but I'm not voting for any of the Democrats. I could not sleep at night if I violated my conscience that badly.

I did the same in 2016 but will probably vote for Trump in 2020. I don’t like him, but his policies aren’t disastrous like the ones being pushed by this crop of Dem nominee wannabes.
