We just had the exact same fight with Nike, Kaepernick & the Betsy Ross flag. Are protests led by Kaepernick an unrepresentative fringe?

What specific protests did he lead regarding that version of the flag?

This is the part where you try to hermetically seal off Kaepernick's view of the American flag from Kaepernick's view of the American flag.

I’m not hermetically sealing off anything, I’m making the point about an argument “we” had (who is “we”) and about “protests” being led that didn’t actually happen

We both know you are not actually this unaware of Kaepernick's role in the NFL kneeling protests, nor of the role of his rhetoric about American symbols in those protests, nor of the relationship between those protests & his role with Nike, nor of the continuity of his views.

You said: "We just had the exact same fight with Nike, Kaepernick & the Betsy Ross flag. Are protests led by Kaepernick an unrepresentative fringe?” First, I asked who “we” was, and I asked which specific protests re: this flag were led by Kaepernick.

You said "smallish accounts from unverified users. This isn’t “progressives,”" Is Kaepernick a smallish, unverified, not significant figure nobody should or does listen to? Or does that depend on the day of the week? You're being deliberately obtuse.

The Yahoo article, Dan, relies on smallish accounts from unverified users. That was where this began.

And your position is that Kaepernick & Nike are similarly situated.

Dan, I said that the Yahoo article was based on tweets from unverified users. You then said “we” were having a fight over Nike and a pair of shoes that didn’t end up getting made. I asked who “we” was, and what specific protests he’d led regarding those shoes.

Dan, what does this have to do with the Yahoo article where we began?

I’ll answer for him: It has nothing to do with it.
