So here’s my current question: as folks like @sethdmichaels have noted, the conceit that telling folks that something Trump (or anyone else) said was racist would “turn off” voters doesn’t seem to apply voters who also endure racism and racist attacks. Why?

But again, that doesn’t answer my question about outreach or concerns about “turning off” black voters.

The problem is 1) the massive overuse of the term like racism, 2) the bait-&-switch nature of definitions of the term, 3) the death-sentence nature of being branded that way in the modern workplace & 4) the constant shifting goalposts. None of which, tbf, 1 person can control.

I mean, you've got two options right? Try to stay ahead of the wave by taking on increasingly baroque academic notions as scientific truth or just saying "Nope, I'm off this ride."
-
But again, black voters and non-white voters aren’t living in a vacuum, but we aren’t talking about them.

No, telling POCs to “go back to their home country” has been racist for a LONG time.
