And there are a lot of warning signs flashing about this strong economy which could change things for the worse. Still though- he's not going to be as easy to beat as a lot of people seem to think.

The business cycle is due to collect its dues, but I'll be surprised if the economy is perceived as significantly worse by next November.

I also think just looking at Trump’s numbers as a snapshot underrepresent his problems. The real issue is that he seems frozen with a low 40s ceiling that makes winning possible, but awful hard. Cc

I agree, but when push comes to shove, unless the economy is in free fall in November 2020, the choice is between capitalism and socialism, if the last 2 days are any indication. Capitalism has the advantage.

Many people are looking for a reason NOT to vote for him. The Dems with Warren, Harris and Bernie aren’t helping. Biden would be acceptable to many if he can hold on and not be forced too far left

I seem to remember that the Democrats and media hated Reagan. Yes...I’m old enough to remember. The economy has been great for the past two years. If it stays strong, Trump is in a great position.

IIRC Clinton, Reagan, and Obama had higher favorables than job approval throughout their presidency - as in people liked them personally even if they were unhappy with them. Trump is the opposite
