Do any of you know what Bernie was referring to yesterday when he talked about rotating Supreme Court justices to some other court? Is there some provision in the Constitution that we have all missed?
It has in practice been treated as synonymous with "life tenure unless impeached." Most of the federal officials removed from office via the impeachment process have been judges.

Yes. But that Constitution does not say that what Bernie suggestion is not possible or allowed, which was the beginning of this thread.

It says that they hold their positions during good behavior. You'd need to argue that the position is that of a federal judge rather than of a particular court, which is difficult to square with the text of Article 3, which differentiates between the Supreme and inferior courts.

Not to mention we see the current SCOTUS slowly rejecting state decisis as a driving force. Meaning precedents, like the one you noted, do less to ensure the courts follow that previous decision.
