2. That loss of democratic self-government comes from overdelegation of lawmaking to agencies, judicial rulings without basis in voter-made written law, blurred lines of federal-state accountability, entitlement-dominated budgeting on autopilot, etc. All progressive goals.

3. The conservative project for democracy is ultimately twofold: on the one hand, to preserve the deliberative aspects that slow down democratic rule, but on the other, to roll back progressive institutions that eliminate ultimate democratic control.

4. Anybody who claims that Republicans are the ones who don't like democracy is willfully ignoring the broader progressive project to hand power to "expert" agencies & "expert" activist judges, & to insulate budgetary decisions from annual legislative purview.
