We need, as a society, to give teenagers some latitude to be jerks; to give teenage boys some space to be teenage boys without that haunting them the rest of their lives. But "boys will be boys" should not be grounds to excuse violence.

I will note for the record that I gave the same "when 'boys will be boys' isn't an excuse" answer here, as well: https://www.nationalreview.com/2018/09/brett-kavanaugh-assault-allegations-evaluating-credibility/ …

The confrontation might not have happened at all if it weren't for Buford T. Justice getting out of his car. Kids get to be kids by walking home, in the rain, in a hoodie, even. Unless I'm thinking of another America?

Zimmerman, as the adult in the situation, plainly bears the greater share of the blame, as I have maintained from the start of that case.

Nope. While I did not see the entire trial, I am of the belief that I saw enough evidence presented to view Zimmerman's actions as pure self defense and Martin as bringing his fate upon himself.

You showed your racist assumption that TM attacked GZ and went on to interpreted Bouie's tweet to mean "Trayvon died for his violent conduct but it's just kids being kids" No, his point was, Ben has no empathy for the murdered black kid but plenty for the racist white kid.
