Republicans are, proudly, a pro-life party. But we have long made room for state-level officials who are pro-choicers. Nobody's trying to run Charlie Baker or Larry Hogan or Rudy Giuliani out of the party. Compare this to the florid rage from your side's commentariat & activists.https://twitter.com/danpfeiffer/status/1137371521985470469 …

My point is that pro-choice Republicans and pro-life Democrats confront pockets of hostility from those who would like to run them out of the party. But those pockets don’t represent the broad majority in the party. The party committees, for example, will support Edwards & Hood.

Plenty of pro-choice Democrats donated to Donnelly, etc. The only guy who was really run into trouble is Dan Lipinski & he’s a very unique case b/c he’s in deep blue territory. And I don’t think you’d see a pro-choice Republican in a rock ribbed red seat.

“Trying to run him out of the party” seems a very malleable concept.

He’s in Maryland though- Exile enough. Baker in Massachusetts, same thing. They should both really from their own centerist party anyway. They are Republicans for the same reason Mike Bloomberg once was- They’re not Dems and need a vehicle for electoral expediency.
