I remain surprised that the GOP hasn't done this yet. GOP has had a majority on SCOTUS for 50 years, but it's never enough.

They already changed the number of justices on the court and they vowed to keep Garland's rightful seat empty for at least 4 years if Hillary had won

"Court packing - like partisan impeachment, election recount halting, VRA negating and Supreme court nominee vote refusing - is a Rubicon we should dread to cross until there is a Democratic President or liberal court majority."

You guys decided that taking over the courts by any means was justified even if it delegitimized the courts among people who aren’t conservative and now you’re shocked by this?

Hey out of curiosity did you also come out against Republicans court shrinking scheme? You know back in 16 when they openly disussed not conforming any Clinton Supreme Court nominees?

Republicans already politicized the courts by blocking Obama’s judges, so take this up with Mitch McConnell. When Republicans don’t respect the norms, Democrats won’t either. We’re not suckers. When we make the court 11, we should call it the “Merrick Garland Act.”

I agree with the conclusion, and would rather the Dems propose an amendment to codify the Court and its constitutional role. BUT: to make this case without acknowledging the GOP's moral bankruptcy on Court norms -- what they did on the Garland appointment -- is disqualifying.

So when Ted Cruz says he would block all of Democratic president’s nominees, that’s totally fine and not bringing in a constitutional crisis at all.
