My dad had one of those turntable stereos that spanned the length of the living room & stored his whole collection. Lotta bagpipes, 40s pop, Mitch Miller, Irish songs, Americana, Spike Jones, etc.

We didn’t have anything that large, but a turntable that you could stack five or six albums on and it would just drop the next one when one finished. My dad was all Clancy Bros. and classical: Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Beethoven, Bach. Mom was all Neil Diamond, Barry Manilow, etc.
