It's a movie with a lot of great, memorable scenes that ultimately fails because of an incomprehensible plot and the most annoying supporting actress of all time.

Temple of doom is the best Indiana Jones movie. I’ll die on that hill.

Of course it is! Except for all the other Indiana Jones movies.

Kate Capshaw is so easy on the eyes and it was so refreshing, even back then, to have a female lead that wasn't all angry and kick-ass and was just a total ditz. I still think of it fondly despite its many faults.

I watched all the Indiana Jones films for the first time the other month and I found them all really enjoyable but they weren't as good as I was expecting from all the hype.

I can still replay that mine cart scene in my head. Great movie, especially if you lean into the campiness they were going for.

Also it helped to have seen Gunga Din like six times before seeing it, so you understood what a blatant homage/ripoff it was.

If I am not mistaken , the film was the catalyst for the creation of the PG-13 rating.

The last 30 minutes or so were also great (I love the scene on the bridge). but everything between the first 30 minutes and last 30 minutes or so...not so hot.
