The partisan gender gap is not new, but its extremity under Trump is directly attributable to Trump's personality, character & behavior towards women, all of which is unique to Trump rather than something a normal Republican would face. "But for Trump being nominated and elected as a Republican and Republicans in Congress fully backing him for two years and thus being seen as virtually the same in the eyes of women voters, this would not be happening" is not much of a point.

Put differently, I took your tweet -- as I take most of your "Trump is bad for the party" tweets -- to be an effort at creating daylight between him and the GOP that does not, in any practical way, exist anymore.

I voted for Romney, even when they said he was a flip flopper! He's proven that now and I no longer have any respect for him. I wouldn't want Trump in my circle of friends, but he's working hard to do what he said. I voted for a constitutional supreme court, and so far so good!
