It was a great show, but for a comedy to leave a real mark it has to be different. How different was it really from Step by Step, family matters, everybody loves Raymond, king of queens or most of the other family friendly comedies that came and went?

The show did not age as well as some of the others from that era. Not quite sure why. Well, save a chunk of the tool time stuff.

It's still crazy to me that at one point, Tim Allen had the #1 movie, #1 tv show, and #1 book all at the same time.

While I enjoyed Seinfeld for what it was, Home Improvement was one of those shows that the whole family could enjoy together. The contrast of how one was lauded and the other ignored is sadly typical and somewhat similar to how Blue Bloods is treated as a TV drama now.

So popular it forced Seinfeld out of its original time slot.

Different networks and Seinfeld was still on prime time Thursday nights when it ended.
