Obviously the cases where police shoot a "model" victim who did absolutely nothing out of the ordinary make for a simpler narrative, but I don't think any activist seriously engaging in the issue wants to limit the discussion to that scenario.

The left wing narrative is that police are tasked with responding to mental health situations, don’t have the training for that, escalate altercations and much too frequently shoot, harm or incarcerate people who need mental help.
