I wonder if the folks who treated Brian Kemp's election as illegitimate per se due to him being Secretary of State will demand that Maggie Toulouse Oliver step down or recuse herself from her job if she gets the NM Senate nominationhttps://www.rollcall.com/news/congress/report-new-mexico-secretary-of-state-maggie-toulouse-oliver-prepares-senate-bid …
The argument that I see on a regular basis is literally "it's corrupt to oversee your own election," period.

Then you weren't really paying much attention to the Georgia election I guess. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2018/11/04/brian-kemps-office-orders-hacking-probe-georgia-democrats-eve-election-hes-competing/?utm_term=.b3c44d96f049 … https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2018/10/22/how-georgia-governors-race-could-reshape-voting-rights-debate/?utm_term=.6f7064470ec9 …

Oh, I'm well aware of those arguments and why they are wrong. My point is that I see on a daily basis the argument that a Sec of State can't oversee their own election. It's nonsense and worth repeating that it's nonsense.
