That said, this from WaPo is silly: "Davis, a Mississippi congressman before the Southern states seceded in 1861, had no known connection to Northern Virginia." COME ON. They're renaming it the Richmond Highway...for the city where Davis' government sat.

When you compare their actual presidencies in practice during wartime, Abe Lincoln was more respectful of civil liberties, separation of powers, small government, & even state government than was Jefferson Davis.
