You do realize it's not a requirement for a president or presidential candidate to release their tax returns right? Perhaps California governor and all Democrat elected officials in the state could show some good faith and release theirs first. You know, since its so important.

Do the requirements need to be assured in good faith? Does it matter if they are targeted at specific candidate, and supported due to potential partisan effects on downballot races?

Not sure I do other. Ditto whether relevant decisions should be evaluated differently than other admin decisions. But seeing folks cheer such changes for partosan effects troubles me.
