Republicans should certainly be ashamed of the way they publicly cater to Trump's ego. This is not an example of it though. Republicans control the Senate. If they oppose something, they kill it before it gets to a vote. That's not a Trump thing. That's normal.

The real issue is when they use recorded Senate votes as a measure of how rarely they resist Trump. As the Fed nominations show, that's nonsense. If Republican senators oppose Trump on something, they don't vote against it. It never gets to a vote at all.
