I don't really care to read the story, but at some point is the phrase "from each according to his ability,to each according to his need" mentioned? Though I'm sure they switched his to a gender neutral term.

As it should be. I think most of the people that work for me (all of them hourly) would be shocked at how much I make. Then again, they have zero obligations when they go home at night and their level of responsibility is trivial by contrast.

All my staff are good people, do good work, and are well paid. However, I have compliance responsibilities, over 30 personnel that feel part of their job is to tell me what to do, and am online/engaged in one form or another over 80 hours/week.
