A boycott != shutting the paper/media org down. She's not reading it and encourages others not to. If you disagree feel free to defend them and read/consume them! But don't call it de-platforming lol or an attack on the free press.

We're not talking about primary but secondary boycotts: efforts to strip media orgs of their sponsors in order to put them out of business or at least influence their coverage.

What’s more anti-speech: Announcing on a major network that a particular religion is antithetical to America, or Boycotting the sponsors of the show that said that? Which is more corrosive of the values you speak of?

I really did not expect you, of all people, to take the "it's OK if we shut them down because we see this as hate speech" tack.

I can’t imagine being so low that I would care what a ludicrous hack like you expects of me.

Ken, I've had nothing but good things to say to or about you for years, & you get triggered because I...think running press outlets out of business is a bad thing for speech? Really? This is genuinely sad. I always thought you actually cared about the free exchange of ideas.

If I don’t agree with you precisely, I don’t support the free exchange of ideas. That’s what I mean by “hack.”

I'm advancing a pro-speech position, but it must be your way or the highway? At least admit that the stance you're advocating for is that more speakers should be driven out of business in order to assure that their opinions are not heard.

I'm all for being able to boycott the press. And criticize them. And make fun of them. As long as we can do all of that, I am good.

Primary boycott, sure. Most people already only read what they want to hear. That's not the issue.

Oh, I fully understand your point; the press is trying to have it both ways. And that isn't going to fly. Either we get to say and do whatever we want in protest...or we don't. You can't have it both ways.
