The Obama Administration & its allies spent years slandering the people & policies who made the finding of bin Laden possible (though it's worth recalling that Joe Biden was against the mission that got bin Laden) https://www.redstate.com/dan_mclaughlin/2012/09/05/no-president-obama-didnt-find-osama-bin-laden/ …https://twitter.com/peterdaou/status/1117052163442790402 …

Read this excerpt from my upcoming book and tell me if you approve Trump smearing the people who brought OBL to justice. #DigitalCivilWar pic.twitter.com/6hqrkMYNpJ

Fair point about Biden, lol about “making it possible.” Might be enough to say, the Obama administration got him—which remarkably became trivial when it was his administration that did so. If a GOP administration ever provides heath insurance for all (as Trump promised), I’ll

My point is, *finding* OBL was the trick. And it was Bush policies that did it.

That might be said with more certitude if there weren’t 26 months of the Obama administration that occurred before he was found and killed. It also took a president who, yes, disregarded his Vice President and suthoryxed the mission.

Here’s an admittedly very brief summary of events which led to finding and capturing Bin Laden. I note that many of them occurred after President Bush left office: https://archive.nytimes.com/www.nytimes.com/interactive/2011/05/02/world/asia/abbottabad-map-of-where-osama-bin-laden-was-killed.html?mabReward=relbias%253Ar%252C&module=inline …

The issue is not the timeline, the issue is the policies. These were events driven not only by Bush policies, but specifically by Bush policies that Obama & his allies denounced.

“Bush policies” several years earlier. Ah. As opposed to Obama intelligence that actually tracked him down. Does Obama’s team get any credit for that? Or were they all doing bong hits for 26 months? And it’s Master’s weekend, so we will give Bush a mulligan on Tora Bora.

Basically, you guys think that nothing happened for the 26 months prior to getting him. It’s as if the raid took place the night of 1/20/09. If you disagree, tell me what you think happened during those 26 months?

I’ll give Bush’s team full credit for the first intelligence breakthrough in 2007. But then the trail went cold until Obama’s team picked it up again. It’s bizarre—and graceless—to elide that.

Circling back to this, it just elides the whole point about *how* the trail was picked up. It was done with tools the Bush team implemented & the Obama team criticized. Has nothing to do with the partisanship of the team & everything to do with methods.

Well, this might be too much for twitter to be able to elucidate, but if you’ve got a citation(s), especially on the “tools the Bush team implemented” I’m happy to read it.
