Gen X will always show up for Star Wars movies, for the same reason that Millennials will always show up for new Harry Potter movies. We are all creatures of our founding myths.

Young millenials will. I know no one within 3 years of me that is interested in Harry Potter. Lord of the rings is the nerd jam imo.

Anybody born after about 1984 would be in the age range to have read the Potter books at age 13 or under.

They didnt catch on right away though. Their popularity, at least in my neck of the woods, didn't happen til 2000, 2001ish. My youngest sister very much hit them hard at around 13 herself. Also, i blindly disdain them, so im biased a bit.

Sigh. Tolkien man. Thats where its at. Though I was also reading star wars books in study halls in HS, maybe my parents pushed me to their gen stuff. They're X, and quite young for having a 33yr old son.

Kids (like all 3 of mine) now start the Potter books early, and can progress to Tolkien (which is what I grew up with; The Hobbit in 2d grade was the first real book I read end to end). I'm just saying 13 is about the upper limit for who really got into them new.

Yup. I think they finish Potter by 13 and nicely transition.
