1. Occasionally, a guy who breaks in as far over his head vs projections from his minor league batting performance as Jeff McNeil will just stay that way in MLB. When they don't, it tends to go one of two ways.
2. One, the guy starts out the next season as hot or hotter, then gets hurt 3-6 weeks into the season & never recaptures the groove. Two, the guy starts in a deep freeze & doesn't get untracked until June or July.

3. I always keep patterns in mind in looking to the future. Patterns are no guarantee of repetition, but sometimes they tell you things that bulk analysis of the data hasn't figured out yet.
