A majority is more than half. 48.38% is less than half.
Bill Clinton won in 96 right? he was a Dem.
With only a plurality of the popular vote. And in 92, take Perot out and Bush 41 has far better reelection odds.
You’ve got no shame at all, do you? Obama easily had the most vote in the primaries unless you count Michigan, where his name didnt appear on the ballot. Other. And what’s the relevance ‘majority of the popular vote’ here? Every vote is for a Republican that isn’t for a Democrat?
Dan, you are smarter than this. Primary votes do not equal general election votes. Shame.
I too have always wondered how Hillary ended up being screwed twice and made virtually no fuss either time. Also, A+ point on the primaries, they way more of an un-democratic mess on both sides than the electoral college.
If we were to gut the electoral college we should at least have French/Louisiana style runoffs until someone’s over 50%.
