Except that Qaddafi was no longer an active enemy of the US by 2011, thanks to our actions against Saddam. Also we were not actively, perpetually enforcing a cease-fire that Qaddafi was actively violating. Also Qaddafi did not openly celebrate the 9/11 attacks. For a few.

The Palestinians openly celebrated the 9/11 attacks, too. Perpetually enforcing the Gulf War cease-fire still doesn’t mean the resulting war was worthwhile. I’m not sure how you can say it was, given how it worked out.

Even the Palestinian *leadership* squelched those demonstrations pretty swiftly. They knew it was bad news. Saddam pushed it through his state-run media. To support leaving Saddam in place, you have to own either the forever enforcement of the status quo or US humiliation.
