IIRC, that move was about 5 feet (the old pitcher’s box started 50 feet away, and if you assume a 5-6 foot stride from the back foot to the front foot). This is only two feet - bigger than the 18 inches I’ve been advocating, but not nearly as dramatic as 1893.
