If the election was when the term expired, is that not an admission that opposition to Trump was based solely on him being a perceived liability to the party? And does it not memory hole all the moral and ethical objections to him which did not disappear in 11/16?
Most of the people using the term did not expect him to win, and those who thought it possible did not expect him to govern in a way that a conservative would even consider supporting him later. It was a hashtag hastily dropped into a primary fight.
Being "Never Trump" due to his potential politics isnt really "Never Trump". Politics always changes. The true reason to be "Never Trump" is the assessment that he's not mentally, morally, and legally fit for the office. That assessment couldnt have changed with his 1st term
Why not? As Dan points out he has a record in office to assess those qualities.
All the while continuing to support, despite the lack of evidence of any crimes, all the DoJ and Congressional investigations into everyone Trump related, while ignoring the ramifications of said targeted investigations upon the body politic. A real problem for neverTrumpers.
