Its obvious to most common sense folk that conservatives lost these battles already over the last decade or 3, and you are on your own now if you want to continue to live in the past and use the same tactics that almost lost us the country to a bunch of criminals.
It’s not about raw power; it’s about protecting the nation and the rights of its citizens. I see no bigger threat than the war on free speech. The Left’s “words are violence” formulation will very soon collapse it. Attacks on Trump’s virtue aren’t contributing to that fight.
The issue, I think, hasn’t fundamentally changed since 2016: many of us believe we’re in a serious crisis, and others believe things would be fundamentally the same if not for Trump and his vices.
How does Trump degrade things? Looked at properly, he is a force for American values and human values in general. And that fact is why NeverTrump's constant refrain that he's the one lacking character while they ignore truly bad things he's exposed is maddening.
When I see statements like "the Left is just about raw" power I just don't comprehend it. I'm a liberal. I believe in what I believe because I think liberal policies improve people's lives. I have no interest in "raw power."
