Remind yourself every day:
Any day spent talking about Donald Trump is a day Republicans are losing.
Any day spent talking about Joe Biden is a day Democrats are losing.
Maybe have a little humility before you tell a working class person that it is the human right of a mentally ill drug addicted person wearing no pants to scream in their face and wildly gesticulate at them every other day while they try to get to work so they can feed their kids.
I ride the subway a lot. Not a week goes by that a mentally ill person doesn't get on and terrorize the entire car—especially women, especially Asians. Usually the men just sit there and pretend it's not happening. It's a disgrace that working New Yorkers have to live like this.
Not so long ago, America had one "president as a time" and only the holder of the title used it, as is proper for a "presiding" officer. It's why the Senate president is only president on the podium. Calling all former presidents "president" is a mistake. /2

A BLM protestor was sentenced to 10 years for burning a man alive. The prosecutors begged the judge for leniency.

Thomas apologists who say his critics are whining about trivial ethics violations because we don’t like how the legal landscape has changed don’t seem to understand. The “trivial ethics violations” are the explanation for why the legal landscape has changed.
It would be nice, now that all of these media outlets are reporting the NY gas ban, if some of the same outlets apologized for saying it was all a made up lie by culture war obsessed right wingers.
Which goes a ways to illustrating why they did a poor job explaining the reasoning of that decision, as well as many others with far less defensible outcomes.
Of the justices who decided Brown v Board, only one had been a judge:

Burton--US Sen OH, Mayor Cleveland
Clark--US AG
Minton--US Sen IN, Judge Seventh Circuit twitter.com/jmart/status/1…
There have been press reports that the authorities consider the manifesto to be “astronomically dangerous.” They may be unsettling and even dangerous, but the question is the right of the authorities to keep such evidence from the public and the press... https://jonathanturley.org/2023/05/05/national-police-association-sue-to-obtain-audrey-hale-manifesto/…
Sad ending. Remember when we used to look forward to Harvey Day. Truly dominant in 2012-13. 2015 World Series ninth-inning failure wasn't his fault for staying in too long, ruined a wonderful outing.
Some glaring holes in the Red Sox lineup at 1B, 2B & SS, plus Devers has been boom & bust, but unexpectedly strong performance from their OF (Yoshida, Verdugo, Duran, Duvall), DH (Turner) & C (Wong & McGuire). https://baseball-reference.com/teams/split.cgi?t=b&team=BOS&year=2023…
, the large # of academics caught falsely adopting identities hugely favorable to their careers suggests professional status/tenure incentives are by far the dominant force, and quirky psychodramas in the aggregate irrelevant.

The idea that this is reducible to “get better jobs, win more awards” is ludicrous. These people abandon their own families to live lives of dishonesty that could be destroyed at any moment by someone asking a perceptive question.

Montgomery, to German negotiators: "If you do not agree to the surrender, then I will go on with the war & I will be delighted to do so." Almost as an afterthought, he adds: "All your soldiers and civilians may be killed."
I've been waiting to see if he'd try this, as opposed to getting a federal court to enjoin the prosecution. I'm skeptical that prosecution for actions taken as a candidate for federal office qualifies for removal.
Trump To Remove Criminal Prosecution To Federal Court. Unlike removal under the regular removal statute, removals under 28 U.S.C. § 1442 can be appealed. https://reason.com/volokh/2023/05/04/trump-to-remove-criminal-prosecution-to-federal-court/…
