TBQH I still don't understand why people even use containers for deployment. Isn't this what package managers are for? Come at me, haters.
@alexstapleton Docker could work similarly to Sandstorm, but pursues a much more onerous path which makes it slow to boot and hard to adopt

@bascule Docker is very easy to adopt IME. -
@alexstapleton maybe if you're greenfielding -
@bascule Nope. Ported a 5 year old 500,000 line web app to it this year. Surprisingly painless :) -
@alexstapleton cool, now wave a magic wand and make UnionFS work on older cersions of CentOS -
@bascule Docker host on old CentOS sounds pretty miserable. Barely even works reliably on Ubuntu 14.04 :( -
@alexstapleton I think you can get a lot of Docker's benefits with something less onerous/opinionated than Docker -
@bascule Probably but they seem to be making a conscious effort to listen to complains like these and make their platform more modular. -
@alexstapleton I guess I'm a fan of "do one thing and do it well". Docker does many things poorly
