Someone just pointed out that Ruby FFI is LGPLv3... wtf?https://github.com/ffi/ffi

@bascule@hiro_asari basically, it's the legal departments choice to block LGPL, and not@wmeissner's responsibility to re-license for them. -
@postmodern_mod3@hiro_asari@wmeissner IMO it makes no sense for FFI to have a different license from Ruby -
@bascule@hiro_asari or FFI could dual license, and offer a commercial license. That way@wmeissner would be compensated. -
@postmodern_mod3@hiro_asari@wmeissner or I could switch back to Cexts for my libs. I'm sure@headius@evanphx@brixen would love that -
@bascule@hiro_asari@wmeissner note that$MEGA_CORP will benefit more from using your code, more than you will. Don't bend over backwards. -
@postmodern_mod3@hiro_asari@wmeissner I'm not actually going to abandon FFI :P but this does make me emo

@bascule@wmeissner@hiro_asari legal departments often avoid anything (L|A)?GPL to maintain maximum control over their IP. -
@postmodern_mod3@wmeissner@hiro_asari avoiding these problems is why I use MIT -
@bascule@wmeissner@hiro_asari legal departments _are_ the problem. -
@postmodern_mod3@wmeissner@hiro_asari let me wave my magic wand and make them go away
