@bascule wtf is wrong with you?
@renaebair @chriseppstein guns do offer simple logistics for mass murder. I'm not disputing that

@bascule making something easier to do increases the chance that it will happen, right? -
@chriseppstein not necessarily, it can just as easily shift business from a regulated market to a black market -
@bascule black markets are harder to use. Much harder actually. -
@chriseppstein yes, they also have a much higher incidence of collateral violence. How much homicide was caused by illegal drugs deals? -
@bascule I'm ok if that happens to people planning murders. -
@chriseppstein because when black market deals go wrong, only bad people die -
@bascule listen. No one is saying we can stop people from being murdered. So stop using that as an argument. -
@chriseppstein if we can't stop people from being murdered, what's the point? - 4 more replies

@bascule@chriseppstein I actually enjoy shooting - but I think there should be some discussion around gun control and ease of access -
@renaebair@chriseppstein I don't own guns or plan on owning guns, but also I don't think making them illegal will make them go away -
@bascule@chriseppstein Yeah, I think many on the "left" side of this issue are looking for gun control, not outlaw. -
@renaebair@chriseppstein what "control" do they want that doesn't already exist and how would it have prevented this tragedy? - 1 more reply
