@luislavena can I use rake-compiler to build the source code for an FFI extension?
@postmodern_mod3 @luislavena ugh o_O maybe I should just make a normal MRI cext and a Java version for JRuby

@bascule@luislavena or release the bit of C code as a library so other languages can use it? -
@postmodern_mod3@luislavena too much work when all I care about is a Ruby binding *shrug* -
@bascule@luislavena it's actually not that much work. Go find a boilerplate Makefile, upload a tar.bz2 to github, add a homebrew recipie. -
@postmodern_mod3@luislavena and a Debian package? and an RPM? -
@bascule@luislavena there's scripts/services that can auto-package your C library for Debian/Redhat. -
@postmodern_mod3@luislavena I think I'm just gonna make an MRI cext and a JRuby extension and call it good ;) -
@bascule@luislavena if you really want to package a C library with FFI bindings, I can find an example of that. If not, whatevs :) -
@postmodern_mod3@luislavena gonna just roll with a cext and rake-compiler - 4 more replies
