This seems like a better use of our time than http://app.net : http://tent.io/blog
@brixen @steveklabnik @tomdale anonymous, untraceable chat: sounds like a good application for the Cryptosphere ;)

@bascule@brixen@steveklabnik@tomdale already exists in Tor/i2p, or so I'm told. -
@postmodern_mod3@brixen@steveklabnik@tomdale let me add one more qualifier: disconnected/disconnectable ;) -
@bascule I believe Anarplex's IRC network is setup like that. Also, XMPP was designed to handle interserver message routing/queuing. -
@postmodern_mod3 XMPP needs a server. I'm talking about a fully distributed, encrypted, anonymous chat system with disconnected operation -
@bascule you could run a XMPP server locally, and federate to trusted server. It's still not as turn-key as p2p protocols. -
@postmodern_mod3 then messages only get delivered if both sides are up. Also lol "just run an XMPP server, problem solved" ;) -
@bascule@postmodern_mod3 if you want it fully distributed but messages to be persisted if one is offline, you'll need a DHT or something -
@konstantinhaase@postmodern_mod3 Cryptosphere will use Kademlia - 5 more replies
