are these dev-dependencies? left has fuschia + redox + winapi + cloudabi crates and i think that pops out of crossbeam (though i can't imagine why it needs crossbeam anyway...)

They're gated with platform-specific conditionals, however they're all marked as hard dependencies, and therefore get downloaded and show up in Cargo.lock regardless of what OS you're on.

No, not really. Only a subset are compiled. It’s all from Redox support, which can be turned off.

It's still polluting my lockfile and making it harder to reason about what my actual dependencies are... ...or not, because I switched from `directories` to `home`. Problem solved.
