I see what you're trying to do btw, I'm just not sure of the impact whereas laymen don't care, and those who do can do it from the BIOS?

It's just that a workaround where SW "theoretically" disables a HW blackbox is no longer enough in this day and age

That is very true, unfortunately. No way of being 100% sure until there's an actual firmware update/patch.
