My 11 year just nearly had a heart attack when he saw the exit polls in Iowa saying health care was the number one issue. “Not climate change?” he moans. “It’s like the the house is on fire and all people care about is doing renovations.”

If Democrats were wiser, they'd use this as an example of paper backups being essential to a process where technology sometimes breaks down even when there was no malice, and would have from the beginning said this was an example of the process working - albeit inconveniently.

This tiff between Hillary and some of Bernie’s surrogates reminds me that Donald Trump abused his power and that republicans voted against hearing witnesses. Meanwhile there are real trials in federal court, with witnesses and documents, where they are trying to gut ACA.

The lack of seed stage venture capital in most cities is crazy to me. Once a company has traction, it can get attention from VCs across the world. But at inception, a lack of local capital makes it very hard to get off the ground. I'm bullish that this will improve in the 2020s.

I was on the committee for the last impeachment trial in the Senate. During that time we heard from 26 witnesses, 17 of whom didn’t testify in the House, and we ultimately removed Judge Thomas Porteous.

Rand Paul just tried to out the whistleblower on the Senate floor. Chief Justice Roberts stopped him. So Paul stormed out and outed the whistleblower in a presser and on his twitter account. He did this to intimidate any future whistleblowers from coming forward against Trump.

Worth remembering that Trump eliminated the NSC position that Obama created to coordinate global health security after Ebola, and also slashed funding for preparedness.
